scribnia-hall-of-fameWell it’s the end of my first week here at Scribnia and so far it’s been great.  I’ve got a lot on my plate and we’re working hard around the clock to make Scribnia better.  I’ve had the pleasure of communicating with many of our users and in working with bloggers to develop their pages with reviews and ratings.  It’s been exciting so far and it’s only going to get better.

If you’ve been active on the site you’ve probably seen that we’ve been featuring bloggers as “Authors of the Day“.  Every week on Friday, in the spirit of Twitter’s #followfriday I will be doing a recap of the authors that have been featured that week and share some of the strong reviews that their readers have added.  Hopefully the context that their readers’ reviews have supplied will provide you with quality recommendations for authors to follow, rather than a list of names.

We’ve been featuring authors that we’re familiar with as strong community leaders with loyal followings. Ultimately, we’d like for “Authors of the Day” to be chosen by our users.  If you want to nominate bloggers/authors that you love to be Author of the Day, just go to the nomination page.

So without further adue, here is a recap of this week’s Authors of the Day (couple from previous weeks)…

Authors of the Week

Danny Brown: “His thoughts are fresh and relevant, and he’s constantly leaving readers with questions that make you think. He’s part of my daily mandatory reading and if he’s not already part of yours, he needs to be.”  -Tim Jahn

“Danny Brown has a genuine desire to develop quality relationships.” -Greg Nemer

Stuart Foster: “Stuart tells it like it is and gets right down to business. Though his blog posts are funny and entertaining, they’re also filled with knowledge and actionable tips about social media.” -Adam

“I think Stuart’s strength is understanding how every company today can use social media to their advantage.” -Russpd

B.L. Ochman: “…she differentiates herself from standard social media/marketing fare by being lighter and more amusing” -Wonderwolf

“Whats so great about her advice is that it is applicable whether you are a neophyte to social media or whether you are advanced.” -Highlander

Tim Jahn: “This may just be the future of blogging and it is exciting to read cutting-edge authors like Jahn who are blazing a new trail in blogging.” -Russpd

“It’s amazing. I end up learning more from Tim in 2 paragraphs then I do from people’s entire blogs.” -Stuart Foster

Scrinia is a blogging community built around online authors. Anyone whose work is available online, from small-time bloggers to New York Times columnists, is fair game. There are countless writers available online, yet till now there has been no organized way to learn about their biases, background, and abilities. Scribnia enables readers like yourself to rate writers that they love and those you cannot stand. So go ahead: rave about your favorite author and blast writers you find biased, unreliable, or just plain dull.
